Moving on up

Last year I went to see some bands play in a trailer outside of The Centre for life (Oxjam). It was bloody freezing, but a special little band made my ears prick up and moved me from a foot tap to a full blown bottom wiggle.

You got it, that band were The Flytes.

There's something lush about these guys. I am a BIG fan. You may have noticed they are often on the Live Session, and have played the last NE1 Live Session on the road (Well, in the Centurian)

Not only does their music make you rock around in circles, in uncontrolable madness, they are generally gorgeous lads - like really down to earth - the kinda lads you can have fish and chips with at the beach! mmm fish and chips...

So it's your chance to see these superstars next weekend (get in there while the tickets are only a fiver!);

The Flytes plus support, Newcastle Carling Academy, Saturday, November 8. Doors 7pm. Tickets £5 available at www.newcastle-academy.co.uk, Carling Academy box office or by contacting the band through myspace or e-mail.

Big love
